Henry Forster Cleveland

Admiral Henry Forster Cleveland, Royal Navy, Retired (28 April, 1834 – 26 January, 1924) was an officer of the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

Cleveland was promoted to the rank of Commander on 3 April, 1868.[1]

Cleveland was promoted to the rank of Captain on 26 November, 1875.[2]

Cleveland was involved, somehow, in a collision between Cuckoo and Harpy in January, 1888. An illegible note in his service record indicates "unsatisfactory steering" of some kind.[3]

Cleveland was promoted to the rank of Rear-Admiral on 30 August, 1890, vice Fremantle.[4] In accordance with the provisions of the Order in Council of 22 February, 1870, he was placed on the Retired List on 24 December, 1894.[5]

He was advanced to the rank of Vice-Admiral on the Retired List on 23 February, 1897.[6] He was advanced to the rank of Admiral on the Retired List on 25 January, 1902.[7]
